Sabka Vikas MahaQuiz – PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana: Final Winner Announcement
Congratulations, MyGov Sabka Vikas MahaQuiz Participants!
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Government of India has been working for the poorest of poor with the mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, aur Sabka Prayaas.” The Government has been ensuring basic necessities to all citizens of the country through various programmes and schemes for the holistic welfare of the poor and marginalised sections of society.
As an outreach effort to enhance awareness regarding these schemes, MyGov – the citizens engagement platform of the Government, has launched the Sabka Vikas MahaQuiz Series, in 12 Indian languages to reach every citizen (Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Odia, Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi, Marathi, Gujarati, Hindi & English).
The first scheme chosen under this MahaQuiz series was Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, based on which a quiz was launched from 14th April, 2022 till 12th May, 2022.
Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PM-GKAY) is a pro-poor scheme intended to reduce the challenges that arose due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The immediate goal was to ensure that no poor or vulnerable person or household went hungry.
The scheme has been successful in keeping extreme poverty low during the pandemic as evidenced by a working paper prepared by the International Monetary Fund (IMF). “Extreme poverty was as low as 0.8 per cent in the pre-pandemic year 2019, and food transfers were instrumental in ensuring that it remained at that low level in the pandemic year 2020”, the paper said.
The quiz witnessed great enthusiasm and broad-based participation from citizens across the country. With a total of 1,77,975 contestants, the quiz received the highest participation from Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Delhi.
A maximum of 1,000 participants with the highest scores were to be selected. 85 winners have already been announced earlier. See
