Winners Announcement for Painting Competition on North East India
As part of the Independence Day Celebrations 2026, the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER), in coordination with MyGov, invited citizens to showcase their creativity and celebrate the rich cultural heritage, achievements, developmental journey and aspirations of the North Eastern Region through art.
The Painting Competition on North East India, conducted from 6 July to 21 July 2026, received an overwhelming response, with 613 submissions received from participants across the country.
The entries were evaluated by the designated Screening Committee of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region on parameters including creativity and originality, relevance to the theme, artistic skills and technique, colour combination and composition, neatness and presentation, and overall visual impact.

The selected winners have been recognised with the following rewards:
- The top three winners selected from the eight North-Eastern States are being felicitated with exciting prizes and the opportunity to witness the Independence Day Celebrations on 15 August 2026 at the Red Fort, New Delhi.
- The next 10 winners are being felicitated with Certificates.
Congratulations to all the winners and every participant who contributed their creativity towards celebrating the vibrant spirit, heritage and progress of North East India.
